**Original Post**

I am in the process of writing a book, and I am so excited about it! I decided to post the cover and some excerpts here, so all of you can see it.

I am writing my book with Camp NaNoWriMo, which is National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. So far, I am ahead of schedule!

I will be updating the excerpts below at least once a week, so check back often to see what else I have put up!

Maria: Saturday, December 14th, 1996
Mid Afternoon in New Mexico

I can’t believe it. I am not who I have been my whole life. All I have known has been false. Everything! ….

…I can not believe it.

I am a princess.

Leilani: Monday, December 16th. 1996
Late Afternoon in New Mexico

Just got back from school. Dan was hurting Maria again. I wish that I could help her more. I cant wait for us to go back to Monali – then Maria won’t have to deal with Dan and Mr. Drew. That will make her VERY happy.

I wonder – will Maria have any other ladies-in-waiting? Or will I be the only one??

I have to go – I am going over to Maria’s apartment. Marcus will be teaching Maria how to dance, and Queen Lillian wants me to learn too. Mama says that is good – she has always wanted me to learn to dance. Are ladies-in-waiting allowed to dance? At the parties, I mean. It would not be very fun if I could not. Maria will probably make it so I can for the first little bit, but then she will start to forget me. I just know it.

Early Morning in Monali

I am getting on a plane in 20 minutes, to go to New Mexico to retrieve my “package”. I do not intend to let it get away from me again. This particular package has caused me a lot of trouble. As soon as I get rid of it, I will have one mare thing to deal with before I can become King. But, if I get rid of this package, that should take a lot out of the last package that I have to deal with.

Time to board my plane. We will be landing in New Mexico around 6:45 in their morning. Then I will find Dan, and we will track down this package together.

Edmund: Sunday, December 22nd, 1996
Early Morning in Monali

Martin and I are almost off of this horrid plane. This is one of the worst flights I have EVER taken. I don’t know why I let him convince me it would be fun to pretend that we were commoners, and go visit the country of Monali. It will be fun, he said. We will get out of the palace, he said. And for this I am missing the Imperial State Dinner?? I wish I was back in Kranon. I did not have to mingle with the commoners there. I had my own horse, my own valet, my own dressing room. I exchanged that for a traipse around the globe with my cousin. And HE is in charge of the itinerary. All I am doing is supplying money. For some reason he said I am not to decide where we go or what we do. I believe he does not want me to chicken out. He won’t let me have any say in what we do, and it is driving me crazy. Maybe once we get to Monali, he will let me decide where to eat once or twice. Ha!

Some of the things that I have been searching for on Google are hysterical. Like when I was searching for synonyms for imbecile. I need something for Ricardo to call Dan! 😀

I am so excited to be writing this! Please understand that the cover and excerpts are not finalized in anyway, and that I will be changing them when I start editing at the end of June.
